This summer the we are offering weekly cross country dryland and summer biathlon programs on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. Details and registration information regarding these programs are contained in this post. Details regarding our summer biathlon camps and events will be announced shortly in a separate post.
New for this year, our summer programs will use a pass system. Individuals can purchase a set number of passes, and then use those passes to register in sessions throughout the summer season.
Registration is as easy as 1-2-3:
- Go to zone4.ca;
- Determine your age category and select the number of passes you wish to purchase; and
- Select the sessions you will be attending.
On-snow training in May and June? Its true! New this year, the Callaghan Winter Sports Club is organizing a late snow training camp over 8 days in May and June at Whistler Olympic Park. Over 3km of trails around Porter’s Glide will be groomed and hardened each day of the camp.
This camp is for experienced skate skiers ages 9 and up (as of December 31, 2014). The training in this camp will focus on skate skiing technique in small groups. Sessions will include video analysis with immediate feedback. We intend to have a 5:1 athlete to coach ratio for this camp.…Read more →
The weather cooperated as a light cloud cover held off from raining until after the completion of the event, much to the delight of the participants and organizers!
After the event the daylodge was packed as competitors and volunteers enjoyed a great BBQ put on by the Whistler Cooks crew. Medals were awarded in 12 different categories, and a huge number of prizes provided by The Nordic Shop were handed out to lucky participants.Read more →
As Whistler Olympic Park is unable to groom the crosstrain trail, we are making changes to the 15km and 30km courses for the Whistler Olympic Park Loppet.
We have also cancelled the Snowshoe Scramble categories due to low registration.
For the 15km course, instead of heading down Brandywine view and up Metal Dome, the course will turn left at Around the World, and instead of heading back towards Crosstrain it will take Lower Line Road and then Mountain View back through the ski jump stadium to the finish line.
